Karey is a native of Michigan and attended Michigan State University.  In 1992, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Construction Management.  After spending 10 years in Bend, OR, working in various aspects of project management and architecture, Karey was offered the opportunity to oversee the development of new construction at Silver Mountain Resort.  In 2002, she moved to Kellogg, ID and began acquiring land and obtaining land use approvals for the expansion of the resort.  After development and construction of nearly 300 condominiums, a village center with an indoor waterpark, restaurant, and outdoor pedestrian areas, as well as the golf course community known as Galena Ridge, Karey and Neal opened Local Real Estate.  With a division of the company providing project management and interiors services, Karey now has the opportunity to work on not only projects for Silver Mountain Resort but also resort communities in Oregon, and serve clients in the private sector.  While focused on projects doing interiors primarily for the hospitality industry, Karey also does the day to day business management for Local Real Estate.
